The irriGuard™ system is designed to work with an existing sprinkler/irrigation system to shutoff the system when watering is unnecessary. The irriGuard™ system monitors and displays the outside temperature and rainfall and uses this information to control your sprinklers. Whether you are a weather enthusiast, meeting legal requirements for safety and water conservation, or simply want a greener, healthier lawn the irriGuard™ system is designed for you.

The irriGuard™ system is composed of three separate units

Outdoor Rain & Temperature Sensor

The irriGuard™ rain gauge collects outside environmental data such as the current rainfall and temperature. The gauge then wirelessly transmits this data back to the controller.

The rain gauge utilizes the research-grade technology of a tipping bucket style rain gauge to precisely quantify the amount of rainfall received. It also makes use of a high quality thermistor to monitor the ambient temperature.

Sprinkler Controller

The irriGuard™ control unit acts as the data server, constantly listening to the other two devices for new data to store or data requests to answer. The controller interprets and manages the incoming information from both the display and the rain gauge while using this data to regulate the existing irrigation/sprinkler system.

The controller receives and stores the user-defined information from the display such as the rain set point, temperature set point, and the delay. It also receives and stores the weather information from the rain gauge such as rainfall accumulation and current temperature. The controller interprets this information and uses it to shutoff or lockout the sprinkler system if necessary.

Wireless In-Home Display

The irriGuard™ display unit is the user-interface. It is a portable display console that is designed for in-home use. From this unit you can set your sprinkler control parameters while also monitoring current and past weather data.

The display unit allows you to monitor the current and past rainfall, outside temperature, and the present date and time. It also permits you to set the shutoff or lockout point of your sprinklers for rainfall and temperature. You can even define how long your sprinkler system will be disabled after a rain or freeze event. The display also includes indicators to notify you of current lockout conditions, low batteries, or poor signal strength from the remote units. All this from the comfort of your home!
